Person shot in north Toledo early Friday, drives self to hospital

Two homes were also struck during the shooting, police said.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Law enforcement are investigating a shooting that injured one person in north Toledo early Friday, according to a Toledo police report. 

Crews responded to the 100 block of Hausman Street on a ShotSpotter alert at approximately 6:37 a.m. While en route to the scene, police received information that a gunshot victim had arrived at a hospital via private vehicle. 

Police located a crime scene in the street outside a residence on Hausman Street and said they were able to confirm it was where the victim was wounded and a house had been struck. A second house across the street, which was vacant, had also been struck, according to police. 

The victim in the shooting sustained serious injuries, police said, but there were no other injuries as a result of the incident.

Police did not have a description of any suspects at the time of the report. The investigation continues.
