TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo police are investigating two separate shooting incidents in central Toledo after two gunshot victims walked into local hospitals within an hour of each other late Saturday night and early Sunday morning.
Officers responded to the first call at 11:32 p.m. Saturday after authorities received a report of a gunshot victim who arrived by a private vehicle at a local hospital.
The victim, a 25-year-old, told police he was walking along Central Avenue near Scottwood Avenue when an "unknown person fired several shots at him from a passing vehicle," according to a police report.
The report did not include specifics, but said the 25-year-old's were non-life threatening.
Police did not locate a crime scene.
A second call was made at 12:30 a.m. about another walk-in gunshot victim at a different hospital.
Officers spoke with the victim, a 19-year-old, who told police he didn't see anything but was "walking home from the Red and White Store [Super Market] on [North] Detroit Avenue when he was struck in the hand after he heard a gunshot," according to police reports.
Police reports described the 19-year-old's wounds as "superficial."
No arrests have been in either shooting incident.
At this time, police did not say whether the shootings were related.
