Police investigating south Toledo shooting that injured one person Saturday

The shooting occurred following a physical fight, police claimed in a report.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo police are investigating a shooting that injured one person in south Toledo Saturday morning. 

According to a police report, officers responded to a parking lot plaza at 4230 Airport Highway at approximately 9:45 a.m. Saturday after receiving a call for a person shot. 

Police claimed that, following a physical fight, a shooting took place and injured one person. Toledo Fire and Rescue transported the victim to the hospital for injuries that appeared non-life threatening, police said in the report.

Investigative officers arrived on scene and collected evidence. 

The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival, authorities said in the report. Police searched an additional location in the 4500 block of Copper Creek with an investigative sergeant and a property owner, but officers were not able to locate the suspect.
