Police arrest suspect who allegedly stabbed person in eyes with tweezers

Police claim the suspect attempted to take an officer's weapon during the arrest.

TOLEDO, Ohio — One person was accused of assaulting a Toledo police officer during a felony warrant arrest in central Toledo Monday. 

According to Toledo Municipal Court documents, Brittany Jarouche, 31, was wanted on a felonious assault charge for allegedly stabbing a victim in both eyes with tweezers on May 15. The victim required surgery for their injuries.

In a Toledo police report, officers said they attempted to arrest Jarouche at the intersections of Detroit and Prospect avenues at approximately 4:30 p.m. Monday. Jarouche allegedly tried to get away by kicking a TPD officer in the chest, and attempted to grab the officer's firearm. 

The officers were not injured in the incident, Toledo police said in the report.

Jarouche was arrested and taken to the Lucas County jail, and, in addition to the existing felonious assault charge, was charged with assault on a peace officer, a fourth degree felony, and first-degree felony aggravated robbery.
