TPD: Man shot in west Toledo early Wednesday

Police at the scene told WTOL one man was shot at least once and taken to the hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo police are investigating a shooting in west Toledo early Wednesday morning.

The shooting happened shortly before 3 a.m. at a residence on the 1800 block of Stahlwood Avenue between Upton Avenue and Jackman Road.

Police at the scene told WTOL one man was shot at least once and taken to the hospital. According to a report from police, the victim sustained "possible life-threatening injuries". 

The man could be seen being carried away from the home by emergency crews.

According to the police report, the shooting resulted after the victim and a neighbor, 48-year-old Jessie Crowell, got into an argument. Crowell was arrested without incident, police said. A judge set the suspect's bond at $100,000.

Crowell is scheduled to be arraigned in Toledo Municipal Court on Thursday morning.
