TPD: Teen seriously injured by "accidental" gunshot wound in west Toledo park

The teen was taken to the hospital by Life Squad with serious injuries but is expected to survive, according to police reports.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo police are investigating after a teen was shot in west Toledo Monday afternoon.

TPD responded to a person shot call around 5:15 p.m. at Greenwood Park off of Darrel Road. Officers then located an 18-year-old who was suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

The teen was taken to the hospital by Life Squad with serious injuries but is expected to survive, according to police reports.

Details about the shooting were not made available by police, although reports did say "the incident appears [to be] accidental."
