PAULDING COUNTY, Ohio — One person was killed in a crash in Paulding County early Friday when allegedly fleeing from law enforcement, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
In a press release, OSHP said deputies with the Paulding County Sheriff's Office were pursuing 58-year-old Michael Geiger, of Bryan, in the Village of Cecil at approximately 3 a.m.
Geiger allegedly led fled police, leading them on a chase northbound on South Main Street. When driving near Plum Street, Geiger traveled off the left side of the roadway and overcorrected, authorities claimed.
Geiger's vehicle then overturned, and Geiger, who was not wearing his seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle. Geiger suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Paulding County Coroner's Office, OSHP wrote in the release.

The crash remains under investigation. Law enforcement did not say in the press release for what reason deputies were pursuing Geiger.
