SWANTON, Ohio — The Blue Ribbon Arson Committee is offering a monetary reward for information regarding a Thursday morning housefire in Swanton.
According to a press release from the Ohio Department of Commerce Division of State Fire Marshal, emergency crews responded to the 2000 block of Garden Road at approximately 2:40 p.m. regarding the fire.
Authorities said they found the residential structure, which was vacant, "fully engulfed" in flames. Additionally, two large round bales of straw were also burning in a nearby field, they said.
Both the house and the haybales were destroyed. The fire did not result in any injuries.
Authorities said they determined the cause of the fire to be arson.

A reward of up to $5,000 was offered by the blue Ribbon Arson Committee for any information regarding the fire that would lead to the arrest and conviction of those responsible. Call 800-589-2728 to contact the State Fire Marshal's tip line. Callers can remain anonymous.
