TOLEDO, Ohio — A driver was hospitalized Saturday after reportedly being shot at and crashing into a building in central Toledo, according to a police report issued Tuesday.
Toledo police responded to the 3300 block of Monroe Street at approximately 6 a.m. Saturday after receiving a ShotSpotter alert. According to authorities, a driver was traveling eastbound on Monroe Street approaching Cardinal Street when a second vehicle drove past, in which an occupant was firing a gun.
The shooting and difficult weather conditions caused the driver to crash into a building, police said. Officers did not find any shell casings at the scene.
The driver was transported to the hospital by private vehicle. The extent or severity of any injuries were not listed in the report.
Police did not name any suspects.
