GEAUGA COUNTY, Ohio — A person suffered life-threatening injuries following a crash involving a buggy that took place on State Route 88 on Saturday afternoon.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the Patrol’s Ravenna Dispatch Center was advised at 3:57 p.m. of a serious crash that took place near the address of 16066 McCall Rd. on State Route 88 involving a horse-drawn buggy and a GMC SUV. Troopers from the Patrol’s Chardon Post responded to the scene.
A preliminary investigation determined that the buggy failed to yield from a private drive and was struck by the GMC traveling in the westbound lane at the time of the crash. The operator of the buggy suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported by air to an area hospital. No injuries were associated with the GMC.
An investigation remains ongoing.
