TOLEDO, Ohio — The University of Toledo's search for its 19th permanent president has entered the recruitment phase as the school looks for “a visionary leader committed to imagining the potential of this institution.”

The university's Presidential Search Committee released the details of its "leadership profile" on Monday.

The profile outlines the expectations for UToledo’s 19th president and the opportunity to make a significant impact on the institution, according to the committee. It also provides potential candidates with an overview of the university, emphasizing academic and student success, research and innovation, healthcare and medical education, athletics and community engagement in the Toledo region.

"The University of Toledo (UToledo) seeks a President who understands the exceptional opportunity this University presents," the profile reads, in part. "The University is recruiting a visionary leader committed to imagining the potential of this institution and who will leverage its excellent resources for the 21st century. In so doing, UToledo will set the benchmark for what a public research university can and should do for its community and the world."

Education Executives, the firm selected by the UToledo Board of Trustees to assist with the search, will use the profile to recruit candidates for the job, according to Monday's press release.

The Presidential Search Committee, which was established to help find the next permanent UToledo president, will be responsible for reviewing candidates.
