TOLEDO, Ohio — A west Toledo business owner is picking up the pieces after a vehicle crashed into his salon and boutique, causing damage to the building.
WTOL 11 spoke exclusively with Doug Keetion, who owns both Studio 32NINE Salon & Spa and K'Janèe Boutique on Monroe Street. Keetion said police told him a vehicle crashed into the building Sunday evening, causing damage to the salon and, because they are connected, the boutique as well. The vehicle that crashed into the building was totaled, police said.
According to a Toledo police report, the driver of the vehicle lost control of the vehicle, struck a pole, then crashed into the salon at approximately 7:45 p.m. The driver was taken to the hospital for what authorities described as non-life threatening injuries. No charges were filed at the time of the report.
Keetion said he was not sure when the business would reopen, as insurance claims, cleanup and rebuilding processes are all still pending. The incident occurred just a few days before Keetion was to celebrate one year in business on Wednesday. Keetion told WTOL 11 he would accept any help the community could provide.
"Anything will help, I'm not going to say 'no'," Keetion said. "Anything that can help us move beyond this will be greatly appreciated."
Keetion said he would return to the salon Monday to begin the cleanup process.
