An arrest warrant was issued for Self, who was 16 years old at the time of the incident, in January.  He was arrested in Alabama in February.

Police also arrested Alexzander Perez, 31, in January and charged him with abuse of a corpse, obstructing official business and abuse of a corpse. His charges were dismissed in Toledo Municipal Court pending an indictment.

Gill's mother, Bonnie Gill, said her son knew neither of the suspects.

Gill's body was discovered in a car that was on fire in a grassy area under the Veterans Glass City Skyway Bridge early on the morning of Nov. 9. Crews had to extinguish the blaze before they could reach Gill's remains.

An autopsy later revealed that Gill had died from a gunshot wound to the head.
