TPD: 3 juveniles arrested, police officer injured in dispute at Waite HS

All three juveniles were booked at the Juvenile Justice Center on Assault and Terroristic Threat charges.

TOLEDO, Ohio — One Toledo police officer was injured and three juveniles were arrested following a dispute at Waite High School in east Toledo.

On Oct. 13 at 9:30 p.m., Sgt. Mathew Naujock with TPD assisted Toledo Public Schools staff with an 'evolving disorderly incident' between a group of juvenile girls. Sgt. Naujock then requested backup assistance from a female officer to conduct a weapons pat and search, according to police reports.

Officer Angela Domschot arrived at the scene to assist Sgt. Naujock when two female juveniles, a 14-year-old and a 16-year-old, became physically combative and refused to be checked for contraband per TPS policy/procedure.

Reports from TPD state the 16-year-old assaulted both Officer Domschot and Sgt. Naujock. They also state the 14-year-old became physically combative during the search and began spitting and kicking at the officers.

A 15-year-old who was also detained made a terroristic threat towards the school and its population.

All three juveniles were booked at the Juvenile Justice Center on Assault and Terroristic Threat charges.

Officer Domschot injured her back during the struggles but did not seek treatment following the incidents.

Additional police crews responded to the scene to assist.
